Our Story
The Back Clinic was founded in 1981 with a simple idea: physical therapy should be personal. For more than 40 years, we’ve stayed true to that principle — delivering one-on-one care in private treatment rooms, with individualized plans built around each patient’s specific needs and goals.
We are a therapist-owned and operated outpatient clinic in Wilmington, Delaware. That means clinical decisions are made by clinicians, not corporate administrators. Every treatment session is with a licensed physical therapist or physical therapist assistant — never an aide working unsupervised.
Over 250 physicians across the Delaware Valley refer their patients to us. Our therapists routinely exceed required continuing education with advanced post-graduate coursework in orthopedics, manual therapy, dry needling, pelvic floor rehabilitation, and vestibular therapy.
